Yacht refit and repair in Dubai

Yacht refit, repair and maintenance in Dubai

Sailing specialists in a city built for motor yachts

Most yards in Dubai are built around motor yachts. We are sailors, and we work on sailing boats: rigs, masts, keels, daggerboards, multihulls. Our technical team has been running since 2019, we hold the manufacturer service mandate for the five brands we represent — and we work on any sailing yacht, whoever sold it to you.

Haul-out and yard work at Mina Rashid

We haul out at Mina Rashid, Dubai, bringing in the crane and trailers each job needs rather than being limited to what a yard keeps on site. In practice that means we lift up to 50 tonnes with a 200-tonne crane, and we take out catamarans up to 70 feet — a size most yards in the region turn away.

A standard haul-out, antifouling and anode change takes three days, using International paint. Hull work, gelcoat and composite repairs are done in the same window where possible, so the boat goes back in the water once.

Painting and antifouling are carried out in the open, or under a tent when it blows.

Rigging and masts

This is where a sailing specialist earns their keep. We unstep and re-step masts on site, up to 26 metres — standing and running rigging inspection, replacement, furler servicing, deck hardware, winches and hydraulics.

Tan Services is an agent for Karver, Plastimo and Sail Concept, and distributes Lancelin ropes. When your halyard needs replacing, it is spliced here, not ordered from a catalogue three weeks out.

Our team follows the factory technical training of all five brands we represent, which is what allows us to carry out warranty work on behalf of the manufacturersLagoon, Beneteau, Dragonfly, Y Yachts and Omikron.

Engines, systems and air conditioning

Yanmar specialists, plus general engine servicing, hydraulics, marine electrics, and the chemical cleaning of air-conditioning circuits — a Gulf-specific job that decides whether you can actually sleep aboard in summer.

We keep consumables in stock at our Al Hamra base. Anything else is ordered the same day and delivered within three days, which is usually faster than waiting for a yard to raise a purchase order.

Work we do not carry out in-house — upholstery, sailmaking, major structural composite — is handled by our own team and a network of specialist partners, coordinated by us so you have one contact.

We also select and fit additional equipment on board — Starlink, navigation electronics, watermakers, solar — and take care of the soft equipment that makes a boat liveable: linen, crockery, appliances, custom logo work.

Tan Yearly Maintenance

A boat left alone in the Gulf deteriorates faster than almost anywhere else: heat, humidity, salt and sun work on it every day, whether you sail or not.

Tan Yearly Maintenance is our annual care contract — scheduled servicing, engine and rig checks, cleaning inside and out, systems monitoring, and the administrative side of ownership: registration renewal, boat movements, safety inspection and certification.

From AED 900 per month. Twelve owners are on the programme today. Talk to us about what your boat needs.

Leaving for the summer?

Between June and September a large part of the Gulf’s owners are away. We look after the boat while you are: maintenance and servicing of the engine, standing and running rigging, cleaning, and the registration and safety paperwork that expires while you are not looking.

You come back to a boat that is ready to sail, not to a list of jobs.

We come to your marina

Two of our technicians run a fully equipped service truck and work across the Gulf’s marinas: Mina Rashid, Palm Jumeirah east and west, Dubai Offshore Sailing Club, Jebel Ali Hotel Marina, Emirates Palace Marina and Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi, The Pearl in Qatar and Jeddah Yacht Club Marina in Saudi Arabia.

Three of our staff hold navigation licences, so we can move your boat ourselves rather than asking you to bring it to us. The team is insured to work in every marina we operate in.

Any sailing yacht, not only the brands we sell

We are the official dealer for five brands, but the workshop is open to everyone. Fountaine Pajot, Dufour, Jeanneau, Hanse, Bavaria, an older boat with no dealer left in the region — if it sails, we work on it. We also service motor yachts.

We maintain around thirty boats a year, twelve of them under a regular contract.

Deliveries and offshore passages

We run international deliveries in both directions: the Gulf to the Mediterranean, the Atlantic to Dubai. Expat owners moving boats with them, or buyers taking delivery in Europe.

Passages are crewed by licensed skippers — Xavier Bouin holds a Yachtmaster certificate and RORC safety, first-aid and sea-survival qualifications — and combined with maintenance on arrival, in Dubai or at our partner yards in the Mediterranean.

Selling your boat?

A prepared boat sells faster and better. Our Deep Cleaning programme covers the interior, the exterior and chemical treatment of the systems, and we handle the technical side of the sale alongside our brokerage service.
