The Dragonfly 33 in the Gulf
The Dragonfly 33 is the new performance cruiser in the Dragonfly range and the successor to the Dragonfly 32. Built by Quorning Boats in Denmark, she combines the 32’s proven layout and sailing qualities with the wave-piercing main hull and floats, the fixed bowsprit and the twin-wheel, dual-zone cockpit first introduced on the larger Dragonfly 36.
At 10.68 metres, she folds to 3.70 metres with the Swing Wing system, draws just 55 centimetres with the board up and reaches 22 knots. Two versions are offered: Touring, with a 15.20-metre carbon mast for relaxed cruising, and Performance, with a 17.20-metre rig and more sail for experienced crews. In the Gulf’s light breezes, where heavier cruisers motor, that efficiency keeps a Dragonfly sailing — and she is CE Category A and unsinkable.
